16. Which does your character idealize most: happiness or success?
It’s really easy to assume at first glance that all she cares about is a paycheck as, really, most of her schemes involve hoarding as much shiny wealth as she can get her claws on, but nothing is more important to Eda than her own happiness, or even the happiness of those she allows to surround herself with. Happiness to her is the freedom to do what she wants, when she wants to, without worrying about the approval or disapproval of anyone who might try to ‘tame’ her. She’s a very ‘I’m going to be happy in SPITE of everything’ kind of person, and will stop at nothing to protect her own little sanctuary of happiness.
22. What does your character like in other people?
To put it shortly, she likes weirdos. To elaborate further, she likes people who are willing to carve out their own path, who unashamedly live their truths even when that’s not the easiest thing for someone to do. She also enjoys humor in people, or people she can easily fluster and frustrate (in a friendly way).
31. Describe a scenario in which your character feels most comfortable.
Any kind of situation where she’s able to prove herself and her power in a flashy and grandiose way, especially if it’ll earn her more renown as a wanted criminal. She loves the comfort it brings her that she, The Owl Lady, is one of the Empire’s biggest public enemies despite just being out there and living her life.

2. What is/was your character’s relationship with their mother like? 3. What is/was your character’s relationship with their father like?
This is gonna get pretty speculative here, so forgive me if this answer changes as we learn more about Eda and Lilith in canon. This is purely headcanon at this point, going off of my understanding of the story structure of the series plus a little wish fulfillment on my end that is absolutely going to be written differently when the show itself catches up.
Now that that disclaimer’s out of the way!
Eda wasn’t always the ‘problem’ child, wild and untameable and ready to cause a ruckus at all times. It started young, when she saw how much more praise Lilith would get from their Moms than Eda herself would, and found that the only way to get attention was to get negative attention by acting out.
Eda’s relationship with her Moms, both accomplished witches of the Emperor’s Coven, was largely summed up in ‘I’m not mad, I’m disappointed’, which made Eda feel a lot of pressure to perform well in school that ultimately turned into acting out there, too, because she couldn’t come anywhere near Lilith’s perfect grades and model bookworm student persona.
Their Moms vanished mysteriously when Eda was about 13 and were never found or heard from again. From that point on, Lilith became the ‘adult’ of the house during a time when Eda was at her most volatile, leading to more conflict between the two of them.
Eda loved her Moms, and she loved them, but absolutely none of them saw eye-to-eye. Eda’s not sure what happened to them, but she spent years thinking she had some sort of ‘manifest destiny’ calling to find them, only for her searches to bring up nothing except the creation of her Portal Door.
Hollyhock, lavender, primrose!
Hollyhock: Describe your ideal day.
...huh. I’ve never actually thought about that in any kind of tangible way before. I guess my ideal day would be waking up feeling spry, making some kind of big discovery, finding the perfect buyer for it, and having enough snail left over after stashing it to buy myself some big dinner somewhere for me and King.
Seems kinda simple now that I type it out but what are you gonna do?
Lavender: What’s your favorite thing about yourself?
Asking all the introspective questions, huh? Are my dashing good looks an acceptable answer? Honestly, it’d be easier to answer what my least favorite things are about myself and narrow it down that way. Much shorter list.
Primrose: Describe your ideal life.
Hmm. Being able to openly practice whatever the heck magic I wanted without the Emperor breathing down my neck. Possibly some sort of iteration where my sister was still in my life. I honestly wouldn’t change too much, if we’re being open. Just little things. All things considered, I’m nearly there already.
🎹 Playing music

🎹 Playing music
Eda and Lilith were expected to learn how to play instruments when they were younger. Eda picked the ‘Organ’, a large and vicious creature with great bellowing windpipes and a tendency to bite the hands of whoever played it. Eda never kept up with her practice, drifting away from it during her most rebellious of teenage years, but she can still tame the Organ long enough to play stuff by ear. The knowledge of how to parse sheet music, however, is long since passed.

🥘 Cooking
Eda is a chaotic force when she’s in the kitchen, and not always in a good way. Her curse and growing up in the Boiling Isles has kind of left her with an awkward and often times garbage palate. If she’s left to her own devices, she will eat simple and sometimes disturbed food combinations, or even just raw ingredients on their own.
Despite this, she is capable of following recipes well and generally understands that what she eats might not be appealing to other people. She’s just really lazy when it comes to feeding herself.
🖌 Making art
If she had the patience for it, she might actually be passable, but sitting in one place for too long and dumping hours into a project that ultimately results in no real monetary gain or benefit isn’t her style.
She does enjoy graffiti, though, and any kind of ‘street art’ that has the opportunity to deface something with meaningless regard.
🌱 Gardening
Plant husbandry isn’t something she ever really puts much focus on. If she needs a particular plant for a recipe, she’ll usually just use her magic to quick-grow it or, barring her knowledge of it and the difficulty of the task, will barter at the market for it.
The only plants she keeps are a couple of small succulents, and even then they’re mostly Kings.
